Monday, Happy Labor Day! Hoo, boy. Remember what I said about writing like a speed demon? Well, I was dancing around the subject a bit. Yes, I'm working on the book, and I've got a slew of other projects on the back burner, but. . .well, I've been inspired. Maybe it's the sea air, maybe it's the walking up and down hills, maybe it's just the lovely blatant sexuality around here, but I've had another one of those dreams. You know, one of those. And it kicked off yet another train of thought. Yep, another story is aborning on my laptop, and this thing is so incredibly powerful, it may very well melt the circuitry. I don't have the faintest idea where I could get it published, but what the hell, it's too good to stay inside my head. Out in real life, we moved our bags to the Hotel Beresford, this lovely old hotel on Sutter, and spent the afternoon and evening at Ocean Beach playing frisbee in the fog (Lisa has this great underarm flip, and Lyndon is surprisingly good with a frisbee -- he says he used to flip around sheets of cardboard as a child. Apparently it was good practice) and warming up at the Cliff House lounge with Winter Warmers, a delicious mix of hot chocolate and Cointreau. Tastes like a hot liquid Jaffa Cake -- yummy. We finally staggered home around 9:00 pm, after discussing the possibility of taking in a movie and dismissing it because we'd all fall asleep mid-film. Frisbee on the beach is not for the out-of-shape, that's all I can say. But damn, it was a fun way of spending Labor Day. |
