Like a lot of people around the world, I've been spending a large chunk of this weekend watching the news for updates on JFK Jr.'s plane. Our main all-news channel is Sky News -- I'd watch CNN if I could, but even with satellite we get really terrible reception on that channel (we're right on the northern edge of the Astra satellite footprint, so some of our channels are extremely fuzzy). I never knew until this weekend that Sky news used Fox News as their sister station in the US. Then again, considering who owns Sky, that shouldn't come as much of a surprise.

The news coverage has been pretty thorough -- the English broadcasters keep cutting away to the Fox feed, and I've only wanted to punch the female Fox presenter a couple of times (what can I say -- vapidness annoys me. And will someone please perform a caffeine intervention on that Fox reporter out at the Kennedy compound?). Of course, being a female myself, I'm allowed to express a desire to punch a female newscreature without having the PC Police jump all over me (although they probably will anyway, since I'm espousing the use of random violence to settle aggravation. You can't make some people happy no matter what you do). But she really is annoying.
