Saturday, I'm about to become extraordinarily busy, as I try to get this place cleaned up, my various accessories washed and packed, and all the stuff I was supposed to bring to Lyndon remembered and rounded up, so this isn't going to be the longest post in the world. Which is cool, since I'll probably be posting my head off next week from California. I am really getting jazzed up about this, now -- not just about the con, but about the idea of being in the sunshine, wandering around, and just generally having a good time. Of course, the con plays a big part of it, too -- it's just nice, sometimes, to go somewhere where itäs okay to be a science fiction fan or writer. Fandom really is like a humongous family -- and like other humongous families, it contains its share of internecine fights, black sheep, and skeletons in the closet. But when you're at a rocking room party, deep in conversation and having the time of your life, there's nothing better. Onward! |
