Sake Fairy
Kampai!
Second in my Booze Fairies line, the Sake Fairy comes with anime-style ponytails, kimono and streamlined blue wings (I'll be color-coordinating her wings and hair accents to her kimono), as well as sake flask and cup (not pictured).
Here's the complete fairy -- body and hair are made from non-pill fleece, and her kimono and obi are cotton. Facial details are acrylic paint and heavy duty iron-on interfacing. Ribbon trim is from Hancock's. |
This is the base body for the Sake Fairy -- she stands about 8.5 inches tall. |
A closeup of her face. I could have gone with larger, more anime-style eyes, but for this first doll I wanted to keep it a bit more realistic. |
Closeup of the kimono and obi. Granted, it doesn't have a collar, but I was having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to attach one, and I had an eensy clearance for her neck as it was, so I just gave it a rolled hem instead. That being said, it does have the kitten-smuggling sleeves. |
Side shot of the wings and ponytails. The wings are made of acetate -- I used spray adhesive and laid gold-spattered blue mesh fabric over them, then did the detailing with puffy gold fabric paint. |
